Important Note:
By default, qPCR primer pairs are designed to measure the expression level of the splice variant (accession number) you selected for this gene WITHOUT consideration of other possible variants of this gene. If this gene has multiple variants, and you would like to measure the expression levels of one particular variant, multiple variants, or all variants, please contact us for a custom service project at inquiry@genecopoeia.com.
Summary
Neurogenin-3 (NEUROG3) is expressed in endocrine progenitor cells and is required for endocrine cell development in the pancreas and intestine (Wang et al., 2006 [PubMed 16855267]).
Gene References into function
- adult human pancreatic duct cells can be converted into insulin-expressing cells after ectopic, adenovirus-mediated expression of the class B basic helix-loop-helix factor neurogenin 3
- Polymorphism contributes to glucose intolerance in a South Indian population.
- The Notch/Ngn3 signalling network is intact and functional in adult islets.
- A genetic variation in the NGN3 gene may be among the genetic determinants involved in the pathogenesis of diabetes.
