Introduction

G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are a large family of membrane protein receptors found only in eukaryotes. They are widely distributed in organs and tissues such as the central nervous system, immune system, cardiovascular system, and retina. GPCRs that work under normal physiological conditions are mainly activated by ligand molecules and participate in the body’s development and normal functions. They are specific to multiple ligands, including GPR25, GPR35, TAS2R20, CRHR2, and OR6C74. However, if abnormal regulation of its related intracellular pathways occurs or exogenous pathogens attack body cells through them as receptors, it will lead to a series of diseases. Therefore, GPCRs are considered important drug development targets, with over 34% of modern drug targets being GPCRs.
