SARS-CoV-2 and Variants Antigen Array

Product Information

GeneCopoeia Releases Multiplex Serological SARS-CoV-2 variants antigen microarray (64-plex) for SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Purpose: GeneCopoeia has released the first multiplexed serological assay for SARS-CoV-2 (WT and variants), SARS-CoV-1, common coronaviruses, and other common respiratory-related viruses, to be used in antibody surveillance studies. This is the first highly multiplexed microarray-based assay for semi-quantitative detection of antibodies (IgG/IgM/IgA) against a whole spectrum of SARS-CoV-2 (wild-type and variant antigens), other coronaviruses, and other common respiratory virus antigens in serum and plasma. The OmicsArray™ COVID-19 SARS-CoV-2 and Variants Antigen Array (64-plex) is the first microarray-based multiplex assay to allow simultaneous detection of antibodies to the whole spectrum of SARS-CoV-2 proteins (22 wild-type antigens, 19 variant antigens), other coronavirus species (SARS, MERS, 4 HCoVs) and other respiratory infection related viruses (influenza, RSV, CMV, etc.). Each slide contains 16 identical arrays enabling high throughput detection. The presence of Ig and anti-Ig as controls in each array allows the inter-array normalization and comparison among different samples. A high and low control sample is provided. The 16-array slide format allows for simultaneous testing of up to 16 samples, and it’s easy to set up 4 plates (64 samples) on 1 rack for simultaneous detection of 56 antigen-specific antibodies for IgG, IgM, IgA, or other Ig subtypes in less than three hours, with as little as 2µl of sample, making it an efficient and extremely cost-effective solution for large-scale population studies. Most importantly, this array incorporates a large number of SARS-CoV-2 variant antigens, including the most contagious Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta variants, which are widely spreading around the world. We contend that as rapid changes occur in the virus and great challenges currently confront us, our high-throughput serological tests will provide powerful information to researchers and policymakers to help them better understand the spread of the novel coronavirus, and to evaluate the protective efficiency of COVID-19 vaccines in the community.

The OmicsArray™ SARS-CoV-2 and Variants Antigen Array is easily adapted by most laboratories and can be ordered directly from GeneCopoeia. In addition to this premade array, arrays containing customized sets of antigens are available, as well as array profiling services and data analysis.

Advantages of OmicsArray™ Antigen Microarrays
  • Largest collection of pre-made whole-protein antigen microarrays on the market.
  • Largest number of whole-protein antigens specifically focused on autoimmune diseae research.
  • Best combination of number of antigens per array (up to 120) with number of samples that can be processed per slide (up to 15).
GeneCopoeia’s OmicsArray™ SARS-CoV-2 and Variants Antigen Array is ideal for detecting antobodies against several viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, either following vaccination or natural infection, as shown in the figures below. Figure 1. Image of SARS-CoV-2 variants antigen array after reaction with human serum (1:100). Each slide contains 16 identical arrays. Each array harbors 64 antigens printed in quadruplicates on nitrocellulose-coated glass. IgG (green color) and IgM (red color) antibodies were detected with fluorescent labeled secondary antibodies. Custom services

GeneCopoeia offers custom antigen microarray services in the following areas:
  • Custom array printing. GeneCopoeia will create custom antigen microarrays built to your specifications.
  • Sample processing. Send us your blood, plasma, tissue, or other biological sample and we will prepare it for processing and incubation with any of our premade antigen microarrays or custom-built antigen microarrays for autoantibody profiling and other applications. For information on sample types to submit, consult the FAQ
  • Data analysis. Once samples are processed and incubated with an antigen microarray, we will analyze the raw data. The standard analysis service includes: 1) An Excel file of the Net Signal Intensity (NSI) for each antigen on the array, normalized to internal controls; and 2) a heat map
Additional analysis services, including proteomic analysis, pathway analysis, and more, are also available.
