- Rck/p54 protein is possibly involved in the replication of HCV genomes in hepatocytes and in carcinogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma.
- The Over-expression of RCK-p54 protein in HeLa cells caused growth inhibition and cell cycle arrest at G2/M with down-regulation of c-myc expression.
- Study shows that RCK/p54, a DEAD box helicase, interacts with Ago1 and Ago2, in active siRISC or miRISC from human cells; directly interacts with Ago1 and Ago2 in vivo, facilitates formation of P-bodies, and is a general repressor of translation.
