Important Note:
By default, qPCR primer pairs are designed to measure the expression level of the splice variant (accession number) you selected for this gene WITHOUT consideration of other possible variants of this gene. If this gene has multiple variants, and you would like to measure the expression levels of one particular variant, multiple variants, or all variants, please contact us for a custom service project at inquiry@genecopoeia.com.

Gene References into function
- S13 subunit may possess multiple functions, including a deubiquitinylating activity and distinct activities essential for cell cycle progression that require the conserved C120 residue
- either RPS13 or RPL23 can promote MDR in gastric cancer cells by suppressing drug-induced apoptosis, and RPL23 may also promote MDR in gastric cancer cells through regulation of glutathione S-transferase-mediated drug-detoxifying system
- Recombinant ribosomal protein S13 expressed in and isolated from E.coli was shown to be suitable for structural and functional investigations.
- Overproduction of rpS13 in mammalian cells interferes with splicing of its own pre-mRNA by a feedback mechanism.
