Important Note:
By default, qPCR primer pairs are designed to measure the expression level of the splice variant (accession number) you selected for this gene WITHOUT consideration of other possible variants of this gene. If this gene has multiple variants, and you would like to measure the expression levels of one particular variant, multiple variants, or all variants, please contact us for a custom service project at inquiry@genecopoeia.com.

Summary
Acylphosphatase can hydrolyze the phosphoenzyme intermediate of different membrane pumps, particularly the Ca2+/Mg2+-ATPase from sarcoplasmic reticulum of skeletal muscle.
Gene References into function
- Mutational analysis of acylphosphatase suggests the importance of topology and contact order in protein folding.
- effects of 40 single point mutations on the conversion of the denatured form of the alpha/beta protein acylphosphatase (AcP) into insoluble aggregates
- studies of aggregates formed from human muscle acylphosphatase and disaggregation suggests that amyloid formation occurs in discrete steps whose reversibility is increasingly difficult, and dependent on the size of the aggregates
- Most of the conserved glycine residues in this protein could have been maintained during evolution because of their ability to inhibit amyloid aggregation.
