Summary
This gene is a member of the Antp homeobox family and encodes a protein with a homeobox DNA-binding domain. It is included in a cluster of homeobox B genes located on chromosome 17.
Gene References into function
- Identification of transcription factors that regulate HOXB7 expression.
- HOXB7 is expressed from primordial and early primary stage follicles through to germinal vesicle (GV) oocytes.
- Homeobox B7 (HoxB7) mRNA is overexpressed in biliary cancer cell lines and possibly involved in the pathogenesis of bile duct cancer.
- HOXB7 promotes tumor invasion through activation of Ras/Rho pathway by up-regulating bFGF. HOXB7 overexpression causes epithelial-mesenchymal transition in epithelial cells, accompanied by aggressive properties of tumorigenicity, migration, & invasion.
- thalidomide inhibits the RA-induced HOXB7 expression in glioblastoma cells
