Immortalized Cell Lines

Product Immortalized cell lines are derived from primary cells that bypass normal cellular senescence and have an extended life span. The primary cells can also be immortalized by over-expression of various viral genes like the large T-antigen of the simian virus (SV40) or human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT). Immortalized cells are a highly useful tool for research in cell biology as they retain some characteristics of primary cells, thus providing an unlimited source of homogeneous cells for the research studies.

  The immortalized cell lines are propagated for more than twenty passages to confirm immortalization and are also tested for sterility. Verification of transgene expression in immortalized cells is done by either immunostaining (Figure 1.) or qRT-PCR.

Introduction

The EGFR S768I Reference Standard is FFPE derived from a highly characterized homozygous diploid HCT116 cell line, genetically modified with advanced genome editing technology to include the mutation S768I in EGFR on both chromosomes. The variant allele frequency (VAF) is 100%, and can be used for quality control in the FFPE DNA extraction process.

This reference standard can be used to assess the performance of your NGS, sanger sequencing and qPCR assay, including the limit of detection, accuracy, and precision.

Product Details

The NileHiFi® Long Amplification PCR Kit contains a hot-start antibody-modified polymerase that remains inactive before the first denaturation step. The polymerase has a proofreading function that allows mismatches incorporated at the 3′ end of the growing strand to be repaired. Our optimized PCR polymerase can effectively reduce the nonspecific amplification.
